Hi everyone,
A friend of mine is trying to use skype. He installed version 3.02, connected his headphones, and called me. He could hear me fine, but I couldn't hear him.
I thought it was his mic, but he tried the same mic/headphone combo on another voice chat and it worked perfectly.
Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Have him try reconnecting his mike and try it again.
Also there's a setting in the options that says let skype adjust your audio settings. That could be causing problems.
Also check the mike volume, and if he's using a usb mike that could be a problem as well.

he's using a cheap pair of headphones, not a USB pair.
I'll have him try checking that setting, though.

how about making him call the skype testing service, echo123?

He did that, and it worked fine.
I talked to him again this morning and I think it was his headphones because it seemed to work fine today. Strange!
